Hello Readers.

I knew about this series for a while but I avoided reading it. For years, I had people recommend them to me and I was hesitant because of the hype. Let's be honest about it. If a book or series is over hyped, I tend to steer clear of it because I am pretty sure that I will be greatly disappointed. Some of the most popular books out there have disappointed me so much that I will never read them again or did not finish them to begin with. I wasn't sure how this one would be because I was unsure as to how one could combine such very different components and actually succeed. There was so much room for failure here and I did not want to waste my time. Last month, I decided to go ahead and read the copy of Cinder that I had been given. I was pretty sure that I would be giving it away as soon as I read it. There was no way that I would actually like it and keep it.

Hahahahaha. Sorry. I am taking a moment to laugh at myself. I am not one that shies away from admitting that I am wrong when the occasion occurs. Not only did I plow through Cinder with insane speed but I ordered the rest of the books midway into the book. Before I knew it, I was fully enveloped in this series and had to know every detail. Beautifully written. The author combined the old fairy tales with sci-fi and steam punk so expertly that I am in awe. I cannot recommend this series enough.

Hello Readers.

Dawning Ascent was one of those books that I had trouble putting down. I love a good fantasy that transports me to another place. It started off strongly. The author set up the story so well that it flowed beautifully. It was well written and I was greatly impressed by the character development. This did not feel like a debut novel.

I find myself wanting to write a lot more but I would end up giving away important details and I hate spoilers. I have the story playing out in my head and I want to share everything. However, I won't but I will say that this book left me longing for more. I was drawn in deeply and cannot wait to see where the story will take us.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it was a phenomenal book. I am still in amazement that it was a debut novel. The only true downside that I found is that I was left with a cliffhanger and am a bit frustrated that I have to wait to see what happens. Highly recommend.

Hello Again!

I was hesitant with this book. I was not sure if the combination of the two worlds would work. Combining two dearly loved childhood worlds was a great risk. If executed properly, you have an amazing new look. If done improperly, you leave the readers with a deep sense of disappointment. It is very tricky. Not only did it work but it blended so perfectly that I was left in awe. 

The beginning grabbed my attention. From the first page, I was transported into this amazing story. Beautifully written and captivating. The character development was astounding. Just the right combination of action and romance. It was so much fun picking out original story components. I was filled with a sense of nostalgia.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a digital copy in exchange for an honest review. I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it had me from the moment I started. Such a great read! Also, the cover is superb. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. They cannot get into my possession quick enough! I am highly recommending this!

I am reviewing Disney Manga: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas by Jun Asuka. I received an digital copy of it from Diamond Book Distributors and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Any quotes that may follow are from the text and are not my words.

I had to read this. I just had to. Being a fan of Disney and of The Nightmare Before Christmas, I was greatly intrigued by this one. I saw it and thought, "Do they interpret it properly?". Yes, Jun Asuka does. I greatly enjoyed this one.  Beautiful illustrations. Story stays with the movie.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because some of the art was so tiny that details were easy to miss. Overall, a fun read. I would definitely recommend this to others especially ones that are already fans.

Do you ever just encounter a book that seems to call to you? It stays in the back of your mind, beckoning you.  I had that experience with FEED. I went to the bookstore just to look around. I had absolutely no intentions to buy anything. I kept coming back to this book.  Needless to say, it came home with me.

I knew that it was something special when I first started it. I had never encountered a zombie book that felt like this one. It was more than just zombies. It was this incredible story of people interacting and dealing with the stuff of nightmares. So many layers to it, there was nothing simple about it. I was hooked. I read it in two days and that was only because I had to go to class, study, and sleep. I could not get enough. It was one those reads that would stay with you long after you've finished it.  I could not wait for the second one to come out the following year.  I stalked that sequel.

Imagine if your job was to blog the news and you found yourself surrounded by monsters constantly, both human and zombie. You don't know who to trust or what the next day may bring. All you know is that you have to catch the story. You have to report it before anyone else does and that gets you into the front lines of the chaos. Danger is constantly breathing down your neck as you try to capture the story. People constantly trying to keep you from discovering the truth. Zombies everywhere you go.  They want nothing more than to tear the flesh from your bones. They only want to FEED.

When I picked up that paperback, I had no idea that I would enjoy it so much and adore the series. I strongly recommend this book.
