This month...

Hello Readers.

What in the world has this month been? Chaos, pretty much. I have a lot of great content coming in the following week. I wanted to write more tonight and I am hanging by a thread. I think I need sleep.

This post is terrible. Thank you for sticking with me.

Well...that happened.

You ever have one of those days that just starts out bad? I managed to fall down stairs this morning and hurt myself. Needless to say, it threw my entire day off. I didn’t even read. I tried to but my head just was not in it. I hope that I am back on track tomorrow and can bring you better content than: “Hey! I’m a klutz!”. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Happy Reading!

My Calamity Jane - Preorder Now

On Sale: June 2, 2020
Preorder Now - Harper Collins

Welcome to 1876 America, a place bursting with gunslingers, outlaws, and garou—better known as werewolves.

And where there are garou, there’re hunters: the one and only Calamity Jane, to be precise, along with her fellow stars of Wild Bill’s Traveling Show, Annie Oakley and Frank “the Pistol Prince” Butler.

After a garou hunt goes south and Jane finds a suspicious-like bite on her arm, she turns tail for Deadwood, where there’s talk of a garou cure. But rumors can be deceiving—meaning the gang better hightail it after her before they’re a day late and a Jane short.

In this perfect next read for fans of A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, bestselling authors Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton bring their signature spark to the side-splittin’, whopper-filled (but actually kind of factual?) tale of Calamity Jane.

From New York Times bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin comes a heartfelt story about overcoming great loss and forgiving past sins to find happiness again.

Brooklyn Hewett hasn’t set foot in Cape Harbor for fifteen years—not since an accident claimed the love of her life, Austin Woods. Desperate to move forward, Brooklyn has focused on raising her daughter for the past fourteen years. But when the opportunity comes along to renovate the old Driftwood Inn, Brooklyn knows it’s time to go home.

But it won’t be easy. For one, Austin’s best friend, Bowie Holmes, still lives in Cape Harbor. Brooklyn hasn’t quite been able to forget him: not since the night they spent together—the same night they both lost Austin. Separated by tragedy and guilt, they’re brought together by the Driftwood project. And as they rebuild the inn, they discover they’re also rebuilding something else.

Brooklyn’s always been desperate to move on, not knowing that she first needs to reconcile past transgressions. She can’t forget, but she can forgive—Austin, Bowie, and herself—on her way toward long-awaited happiness.

Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott with Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis

Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott with Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis
Published by Simon Schuster Books for Young Readers
Published on November 20, 2018
Genre(s): Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary, Fiction
Page Count: 288
Source: Purchased
Format: Hardback
📘📘📘📘📘

Description: Can you love someone you can never touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.

Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.

What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

Hello Readers.

I purchased this book after a friend kept mentioning it. She thought it was something that I would enjoy. I bought the book and then set it aside to read when I got a chance. Then I did what I seem to always do, I forgot that I had it. This week, I decided to finally read it.

I am furious with myself about not reading this sooner. I am proud of myself for avoiding the film that released in 2019 prior to reading the book. I am currently watching the movie. Yes, you read that right. I am watching the movie as I am writing the review of the book. I have not wanted to leave these characters.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because I am not sure that I could love it more than I do. This will most likely be a book that I reread often. The author has another book coming out in October of this year. I cannot wait to read it! As for Five Feet Apart, I highly recommend.

Hello Readers.

I was sent this recently and I read it just in time to review it for the release day. Original concept. A wonderful approach. Solid characters. Full of intrigue and drama. Plenty of steam. Not to be read around other people if you blush easily.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because it was a really good read. I would definitely read it again and will be looking into the author's other work. Recommend.

What if vampires were a superior species and nearly undetectable? As successful, influential individuals, vampires live under a strict set of rules created by their government, The Cardinalis Order. Are you ready to understand what it means to break The Cardinalis Code?
When successful business entrepreneur Michael Chamberlain arrives in The Hamptons to take over his father’s nightclub, he’s in search of a new donateur, a contracted blood source. Troubled and distant, Michael discovers he’s still very much alive when enticed by a beautiful woman, offering a kiss and a question: Can you be mine for five minutes?
Student Paislee Sullivan serves at the prestigious nightclub to pay her tuition. When she meets the mysterious Michael Chamberlain, who she believes to be just a gorgeous bartender with an attitude, she soon discovers her world is ruled by a species not of her own.
Wealth and glamour shroud a dark side that threatens her life when she signs Michael’s contract. In this steamy romance, two lovers wield a charming relationship that will be destroyed by the Order if she breaks just one rule.

“Your species has mastered the art of seduction on an organic level,” she said.

“I guess we have.” He chuckled. “We provide a manipulation that leaves you completely powerless.”
When he looked like he was going to kiss her again, she swiftly jumped off the bed.
Michael gave a knowing grin. “Where are you going?”
She began moseying towards the doorway. He was following her with his eyes as she tossed her hand flippantly, giving a feigned nonchalant voice. “I uh, was—”
“Running away,” he finished her sentence. She could feel her cheeks flushing as he took unhurried steps toward her. He looked like he was stalking his prey. And he was. Paislee was regretting what she’d gotten herself into.
“I’m not running away.” She strolled passed the doorway and into the hall. Out of her sanctuary. “I-Is there another way? You see, my neck i-is extremely sensitive.”
Suddenly, he was standing in front of her before she could stammer out the rest of her words. He was gently motioning her across the hall and into his bedroom. “Is it? What other parts of you are extremely sensitive?”
His melodic voice was weaving her into a relaxed state, and she felt her apprehension and hesitation fading rapidly.
Avery grew up in a military family and traveled extensively. Fortunately, her books could travel anywhere with her. She adored romances as a teen and read whatever ones she could get her hands on. When she was sixteen, she decided to create her own love story, inspired by all the authors she’d been reading. She discovered her passion for writing and continued building her craft throughout the years while traveling as a military wife. Avery finally settled in a small town in Maine and decided to actively pursue her dream of becoming a published author, to share her stories with others in hopes they would love them as much as she did.
She’s served tables, worked drive-thru, modeled, attended AIMT in Kailua to learn massage therapy and energy work, even owned her own shop, making candles, soap, and other natural beauty products. She’s dabbled in a variety of things, but her love for a good romance never wavered.
Avery’s usually hanging out with her family, drinking coffee, and listening to music. If you don’t find her there, she’s staring out the window, swept up in another world. Avery feels strongly that every romantic journey she creates should have elements of adventure, sweet banter, danger, tension, gripping content —and of course, all that steamy romance! Her desire is to bring the reader along for a wild ride that leaves them breathless.
