Description: The stunning conclusion of the Impossible Julian Strande, where all the magician’s greatest secrets are revealed…for better or worse.

As the caretaker of the Strande Mansion, Alice got far more than she bargained for when she accepted the job. Between trying to crack the code of the sinister Julian Strande and her new love affair with Charles, the current owner of the museum, she has a lot to balance.

Alice didn’t believe in ghosts. That was until she met Julian Strande. Unfortunately, it seems the legends of the ghost of the estate are all very real, and he seems to have become obsessed with her.

Charles has promised her that Julian is harmless and just playing pranks. That he enjoys the company after all those years alone. It’s too bad that Charles may not be all he seems…

_____
Author’s Note: Julian Strande is a villain. Ergo, he is not always the nicest man. This story has a HEA, but it may be a tough ride getting there. Warning: This story contains elements of horror, and may be triggering to some individuals.

Hello Readers.

I had already read and reviewed the first book of this duology.  I absolutely jumped at the chance to read and review this one. The first one pulled me in and did not let me go. I had to know what happened.

Once again, I was completely taken by this story. I know that I am not supposed to fall for the villain but sometimes, it cannot be helped. What a book! I finished it and just smiled. There may be something wrong with me.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because I absolutely loved it. Intense and Insane. WOW! I am definitely looking into the other works of the author. Highly recommend.

Description:The Prince and the Pauper gets a modern makeover in this adorable, witty, and heartwarming young adult novel set in the Geekerella universe by national bestselling author Ashley Poston.

Imogen Lovelace is an ordinary fangirl on an impossible mission: save her favorite character, Princess Amara, from being killed off from her favorite franchise, Starfield. The problem is, Jessica Stone—the actress who plays Princess Amara—wants nothing more than to leave the intense scrutiny of the fandom behind. If this year's ExcelsiCon isn't her last, she'll consider her career derailed.

When a case of mistaken identity throws look-a-likes Imogen and Jess together, they quickly become enemies. But when the script for the Starfield sequel leaks, and all signs point to Jess, she and Imogen must trade places to find the person responsible. That's easier said than done when the girls step into each other's shoes and discover new romantic possibilities, as well as the other side of intense fandom. As these "princesses" race to find the script-leaker, they must rescue themselves from their own expectations, and redefine what it means to live happily ever after.

Hello Readers.

I thought that I had reviewed this book on here before. I double checked and was surprised to discover that I had failed to do so. I started it but never finished it. This review is long overdue.

Don't let the delay in review make you think that I did not like this book. I loved this book. This series is so fun and I, not so patiently, await each book. The flow is fantastic. The characters are people that I would be friends with or dislike. Let's be honest here, some characters are just rude and I would not like them one bit in real life. Other ones would probably become lifelong friends. The scenarios are well played out. The book makes you feel as though you are at ExcelsiCon.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it was fantastic. Such a great sequel to Geekerella. It was wonderful to visit some old friends and make new ones. Highly recommend.

Hello Readers.

I love rockstar romances. Yes, I realize that I am repeating myself.  I cannot help it. They are one of my favorite genres. I was sent a copy of this book to review and was excited about it. "Rockstar Romance"...I am there. This book is the second in the series but can act as a standalone.

This is the first time that I have read anything by this author. I did not know what to expect but the trigger warning given let me know that it may be a difficult read. I am glad that was present. This was an intense book. It was beautifully written with complex characters. With that said, it was a true emotional roller coaster. It was hard to read at times and I had to put it down and come back later more than once. It was definitely worth it.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because it was a really good read. I am interested in reading the other books in this series. I will also be looking into other works by the author. People should definitely take note of the trigger warning prior to reading it. Recommend.

Hello Readers.
I was sent a copy of this book to read and review. This is my first time reading anything by this author. The description looked really good so I was hopeful. It is the second in the series but can be read as a standalone with ease.
I loved the characters. It is not often that I use that word when describing characters. The first chapter grabbed me and I read the entire book in less than a day. This is not something that I can do very often because of distractions and having to sleep. I did not want to leave this book.
I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it was wonderful. I wanted to take a trip to Eastlyn. It feels like my kind of place. I will be reading every book in this series and looking into the other works by the author. Highly Recommend.

Hello Readers.

I was sent a copy of this novella to read and review. Needless to say, I was pretty happy about it. I loved the prior installment to The Dating Series and definitely wanted more. This is the second installment in the series.

The characters were just wonderful. They had depth. It is quite the accomplish to create such in-depth characters and a solid story line and the authors have once again achieved this. Sexy and fun. Flawed and perfectly adorable. A win in my book.

I am rating this novella Five Blue Books because the authors have done it again. It was an absolute joy to read. I would love to know what happened to the characters. Perhaps another novella or book for them. *Hint Hint* Highly recommend.

Hello Readers.

I had heard that Heidi McLaughlin was co-writing some novellas with L.P. Dover and I could not wait to read them. As I have mentioned before, I love McLaughlin's work. I have not read Dover's prior to this. The series looked like it could be a fun read. A Date for Midnight is the first installment.

What a fun read! Truly enjoyable characters. Lighthearted at moments. Serious at others. A pure pleasure to read.

I am rating this novella Five Blue Books because it was just great. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the other installments in the series. Highly recommend for those that like quick read heartfelt romances with some steam.

Hello Readers.

I am sitting here trying to figure out where to start. This book was sent to me to read and review. It looked promising and I was excited to read it. I was not prepared at all.

This book was truly wonderful. Beautifully written. Enticing characters. I could see myself befriending some of these people. The chemistry was outstanding. That is a very big deal. Some books have characters with no chemistry or lukewarm chemistry. This book actually makes me think that the author has experienced real chemistry. In fact, I have a new book boyfriend now.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it was so good. I was drawn in from page one. I would love to read more about the characters. It was a fantastic journey and it made me want to join Meriful's Traveling Circus. Highly recommend.

Description: Where do you see yourself in five years?

When Type-A Manhattan lawyer Dannie Cohan is asked this question at the most important interview of her career, she has a meticulously crafted answer at the ready. Later, after nailing her interview and accepting her boyfriend's marriage proposal, Dannie goes to sleep knowing she is right on track to achieve her five-year plan.

But when she wakes up, she’s suddenly in a different apartment, with a different ring on her finger, and beside a very different man. The television news is on in the background, and she can just make out the scrolling date. It’s the same night—December 15—but 2025, five years in the future.

After a very intense, shocking hour, Dannie wakes again, at the brink of midnight, back in 2020. She can’t shake what has happened. It certainly felt much more than merely a dream, but she isn’t the kind of person who believes in visions. That nonsense is only charming coming from free-spirited types, like her lifelong best friend, Bella. Determined to ignore the odd experience, she files it away in the back of her mind.

That is, until four-and-a-half years later, when by chance Dannie meets the very same man from her long-ago vision.

Brimming with joy and heartbreak, In Five Years is an unforgettable love story that reminds us of the power of loyalty, friendship, and the unpredictable nature of destiny.

Hello Readers.

I had preordered this book on kindle months ago and then forgot about it. That happens some times. So many books come out that I forget some of the publication dates. My memory is good but it is not perfect so some books fall through the cracks. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my Kindle and there was this book, waiting to be read. I moved this one up my TBR and then finished what I was reading. This one called to me. I had to read it as soon as I could.

I was not disappointed. From the first chapter to the very last word, this book had me. I was invested. I forfeited sleep for this book. I knew that I could be friends Dannie. I wanted to see her succeed at life. There were moments that I wanted to shake her but I wanted her to come out on top.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it was a wonderful read. It grabbed my heart and would not let go. I would love for a follow up book because I have to know what happens next. I even told friends about this book before I was done reading it. I sent some of them copies of it. Yes, I loved it that much. I will be looking into the author's other work. Highly recommend.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Hello Readers.

Anyone that truly knows me knows that I have great love for Colleen Hoover's work. This book was the first one that I read. I have a friend that we joke about being a "Coho Pusher" because she always manages to slip a reference in conversations. She talked about them constantly and kept recommending them to me. To be honest, I was determined not to read any of these books because of stubbornness. I am that way at times. Moving on...

As I mentioned, this book was the first one of her work that I read and it set the bar very high. From page one, I was invested. I wanted to know everything that I could know about the characters. They were complex and so much like people I know. Writing truly relatable characters is not an easy task. Hoover not only pulled it off but made the reader want to adopt them. These characters left the pages and went with me throughout my days. I wondered how they would respond to situations that I encountered. To say that I was impressed is an understatement.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it fueled a passion. It made me want to read every book that the author had written and I now preorder new books as soon as they are announced. There are only a handful of authors that have that power over me. Colleen Hoover has become one of them and I will always think of my experience with this extraordinary book when I think of her.  Highly recommend.

But when she learns that she will be working for the world famous rock star Chase Brighton, her confidence begins to waiver.

Chase might make her heart race, but his attitude sucks. He is cocky and moody. He even accuses her of wanting her fifteen minutes of fame. But he is also a single dad to the most adorable little girl—and he needs Elle to be his nanny.

Heading out on tour, the last thing Chase needs is to be confined on a bus with a woman as sexy as Elle. It’s enough to drive a man insane as his thoughts are filled with fantasies of her instead of the music he should be focused on. To keep her at arm’s length, he gives Elle a hard time at every opportunity.

As their attraction grows, they struggle to keep it professional, but sometimes fate has plans of its own. When the downsides of Chase’s fame pour a cold dose of reality on them, can they find a way to make things work, or will their differences pull them apart?

Hello Readers.

I was sent a copy of this book so I could read it since I was taking part in the blog tour. I had never read anything by the author before but was excited to read this one. I love a romance if it is done well. This one looked promising.

Where do I start? This book delighted me and surprised me. Truly likeable characters. I found myself wanting to know what happened to them. I became invested rather quickly. The story pulled the reader in from page one. Let's be honest, that is not something that always occurs. Some romance novels have a lot of steam by no real intimacy between characters. This one was wonderful.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because once I was done reading it, I wanted more. I want to know what happened to the characters after this book ended. I will be looking into the other works of this author. I highly recommend this book!

Description: Can you love someone you can never touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.

Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.

What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

Hello Readers.

I purchased this book after a friend kept mentioning it. She thought it was something that I would enjoy. I bought the book and then set it aside to read when I got a chance. Then I did what I seem to always do, I forgot that I had it. This week, I decided to finally read it.

I am furious with myself about not reading this sooner. I am proud of myself for avoiding the film that released in 2019 prior to reading the book. I am currently watching the movie. Yes, you read that right. I am watching the movie as I am writing the review of the book. I have not wanted to leave these characters.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because I am not sure that I could love it more than I do. This will most likely be a book that I reread often. The author has another book coming out in October of this year. I cannot wait to read it! As for Five Feet Apart, I highly recommend.

I heard about this book from Heidi McLaughlin. I knew that she had mentioned a short story involving some characters from her Beaumont Series so I had to read it. I was given the opportunity and I was delighted.

This is a great anthology. Solid stories that pull the reader in and captivate the mind. Sexy interactions that may cause a flush. It was a fun read. I enjoyed every story that I read.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books. It was truly a wonderful way to be introduced to new authors. The format allowed for quick reads and that is always welcome. I will be looking into the authors and their work. Highly recommend.

Hello Readers.

This book was recommended to me by a friend. She as absolutely raving about it. Our tastes are very similar so I knew that I had to read it. She knows me very well so this recommendation was right on the mark.

Perfection. Yes, I said "Perfection". This book was extraordinary. Amazing characters and scenarios. I was not reading the book. I was in the book. I love when a book takes over the reader's mind in that manner.

I am rating this book Five Blue Books because it was incredible. I was heartbroken when I looked into the author and saw that this is the only thing that they have written so far. I would love to read any future offerings. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Hello Readers.

Kasie West is an author that pretty much fell into my lap. I picked one of her books when I had a gift card because I thought it might be a fun read. I knew absolutely nothing about her or her work but I thought I would give the book a shot. I absolutely loved the book and moved on to other ones by the author.

The premise for P.S. I Like You was so great. I was one that would finish assignments and assessments early so I would be sitting there, bored out of my mind. Some teachers allowed us to read when we were done and I was golden in those classes. Some teachers did not allow us to do anything but wait and I ended up with a lot of time on my hands. I used this time to write on the back of the paper or on my desk. I often wrote song lyrics. You can see why this book called to me, right?

The characters were relatable. I would have been friends with some of them in high school. They were fun and approachable. I like the complexity of some. People are usually not one dimensional and this book encompassed. The characters grew and developed beautifully. I cannot stand to read a book with stagnant characters. This story was truly refreshing.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because some of the mystery component was fairly easy to guess. I figured it out early on but I wanted to see how it was executed. The author did a wonderful job with tying the story together. It was a very enjoyable read. Definitely recommend.

BLOG TOUR: TWEET CUTE

Tweet Cute
By Emma Lord
Published by Wednesday Books
Published on January 21st 2020

A fresh, irresistible rom-com from debut author Emma Lord about the chances we take, the paths life can lead us on, and how love can be found in the opposite place you expected.

Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming ― mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.

Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.

All’s fair in love and cheese ― that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life ― on an anonymous chat app Jack built.

As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate ― people on the internet are shipping them?? ― their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.

Here is an excerpt:

Hello Readers.

I saw the cover for this book and I was intrigued. It pulled me in and demanded my attention. There are some truly terrible covers out there so it is refreshing to find those that are appealing. I saw this one and wondered "Mysterious Man, who are you? Are you lying or is someone else?" I ordered the book and pretty much attacked it the moment that I took it out of the box. What can I say? I know what interests me.

I had heard good things about Kylie Scott's writing but had not read any of her work prior to this one. The control that she exhibits is lovely. Some of the characters are relatable and endearing. Some of the characters made me want to push them out a high rise window. With that said, all the characters were written well. The premise of the story was pretty solid. There were times that I did have to stop and think about what I had just read but it flowed well.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because it was an enjoyable read. The overall feel of it was a good one and that is pretty special. I will be looking into the other works by the author based on my experience with this book. Recommend.

Hello.

This book was one that I bought because the premise spoke to me. I thought it would be a fun read. Some books are like that. I buy them knowing that they will most likely just be fun to read. Life is often too serious and it is nice to escape into a fun book.

I would like to say that this book stayed fun but there were moments where I became so frustated with some of the characters that I wanted to throw the book. So much for the book staying "fun". This was a book where I wanted to reach into it and throttle a person or two. The author created characters that were similar to ones that you may encounter in real life. They were flawed. They were complex. They were real.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because I truly enjoyed reading it. I didn't want to put it down once I started it. I will be on the lookout for future works by this author. Recommend.

Description: In this charming, feel-good debut novel, a cynical assistant at a screenwriting agency must reenact the meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedy movies in order to help her #1 client get his scriptwriting mojo back--but can a real-life meet-cute be in store for someone who doesn't believe in happily ever after?

After seven years as an assistant, 29-year-old Evie Summers is ready to finally get the promotion she deserves. But now the TV and film agency she's been running behind the scenes is in trouble, and Evie will lose her job unless she can convince the agency's biggest and most arrogant client, Ezra Chester, to finish writing the script for a Hollywood romantic comedy.

The catch? Ezra is suffering from writer's block--and he'll only put pen to paper if singleton Evie can prove to him that you can fall in love like they do in the movies. With the future of the agency in jeopardy, Evie embarks on a mission to meet a man the way Sally met Harry or Hugh Grant met Julia Roberts.

But in the course of testing out the meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedies IRL, not only will Evie encounter one humiliating situation after another, but she'll have to confront the romantic past that soured her on love. In a novel as hilarious as it is heartwarming, debut author Rachel Winters proves that sometimes real life is better than the movies--and that the best kind of meet-cutes happen when you least expect them.

Hello again.

When I first saw information on this book, I had to read it. I added it to my TBR and preordered it immediately. It looked like something that I would love. It dropped onto my Kindle and I could not wait to read it.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were relatable and I found myself wanting to know what happened to them. In fact, one character was perfect book boyfriend material. I could have read another book on just him.

I am rating this book Four Red Books because it was a very enjoyable read. There were moments that felt rushed but it was a great book overall. I look forward to seeing what this author does in the future. Definitely recommend.
